Event Times and Travel


On Sunday 13 May 2018, there are free shuttle bus services to and from every walk from Isle of Wight College (Park and Ride), Ryde, West Wight, Sandown and East Cowes. Details can be found in your walker pack.

A full bus timetable will be published in advance of the event.
Please make sure you plan your walk to start and finish within the event open and closing times.

If you are planning to drive to the walk we strongly recommend using the free Park and Ride service from IW College to the start points (Bembridge, Carisbrooke, Sandown).

There are no shuttle services back to Bembridge from the finish points.

Travel offers

Southern Vectis are generously offering our walkers free travel, all day, on any Southern Vectis route and service. Simply show your walker number when you board.

This offer has been extended to the parents/guardians of Schools' Walk the Wight participants travelling to and from the Schools' Walk. Please note that accompanying siblings will be charged the normal fare.

The Needles Landmark Attraction is offering all walkers from the Island a free parking permit for its car park. This permit is valid for a year, so you can use it on the day of the walk.
To apply, simply take your walker number and proof of residency (i.e. driving licence or utility bill) to The Needles Landmark main office, situated next to Alum Bay Glass. Terms and Conditions apply - contact The Needles Landmark Attraction for more details. PLEASE NOTE: without a  valid parking permit usual car parking charges will be in place.
