Sara Weech, Chair of Trustees
Sara brings a wealth of experience to the Board of Trustees at the Earl Mountbatten Hospice following an extensive career within the NHS and social care sector, most notably as Director of Strategy for West Sussex Primary Care Trust.
Throughout her career, voluntary work has been at the forefront of her personal agenda and includes; teaching in China and Vietnam, working in an orphanage in Peru as well as being a games maker at the Paralympics. Drawing upon her career experience Sara has been a member of the Wessex Cancer Board and chaired the Western Sussex Cancer Board for a number of years. As an NHS Commissioner she was instrumental in the development and commissioning of the Macmillan service in Petersfield. Sara retains a position of trusteeship at Carers Isle of Wight 2014 as well as being a member of the West Sussex End of Life Care Strategy Group.
In 2013 whilst continuing in a part-time capacity as NHS Programme Director in West Sussex, Sara felt she had the necessary time to devote to becoming a trustee at the Hospice. As Chair it is her passion to see the Earl Mountbatten Hospice grow and develop to provide the highest possible quality of care and compassion for Island residents, both now and for future generations.
