Nursing staff to tackle Great South Run

Nursing staff from our ward and community teams will be putting their best feet forward later this month when they tackle the Great South Run (22 October 2017)
Ward Sister Jackie Whiller, Deputy Sister Theresa McNamara, Ward Healthcare Assistant Jane Tizard, Ward Healthcare Assistant Hayley Roberts, Care at Home Team Leader Vicky Scovell and Ward Healthcare Assistant Pippa Abbott are taking part in the ten-mile event through the streets of Portsmouth.
It is the second consecutive year that the keen runners are taking part, raising money for hospice care across the Isle of Wight. Jackie Whiller, Ward Sister, said: “We love running so this is a fitting way for us to raise funds for an amazing place that we are so closely involved with. Please help us and donate whatever you can to support Islanders when they need us the most.”

Also joining them this year is hospice volunteer gardener and avid runner Sue Clerkin (photo), who will be running the 10-mile course with her son Steve Parish, her sister Anne Dines, Anne’s son Christopher Ballingall. Sue said: “We are hoping to raise some money for the hospice in memory of our father James Parish, who had been cared for at the hospice for a number of weeks.”

"They anticipate my needs and I believe go the extra mile in ensuring the quality of my life is enhanced".
