Classic cars drive up the donations

Members of the Vectis Historic Vehicle Club Ltd have presented Earl Mountbatten Hospice with funds generously raised through a Vintage and Classic car display.
A cheque totaling £863.62 was presented to Dani Johnson, Community Events Fundraiser, at an event at Newclose Cricket Club pavilion.
The money was raised at the car display in St Thomas’ Square, Newport on 17 December when the vehicle’s owners dressed in Christmas-themed fancy dress.
At least 15 classic cars had been on display, with members of the club spending nearly five hours collecting for the hospice.
Nigel Hartley, Chief Executive, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Vectis Historic Vehicle Club for their efforts in raising this money, which will go towards our services supporting people across the Isle of Wight through the most challenging times. Thank you to them for their longstanding and continued support, which is very much appreciated!”

"They look after you and they're so caring. I'm not frightened of dying."
