It's surprising what volunteering can do for you ......
Our team of motivated, caring and supportive volunteers are an essential part of the Hospice ethos and provide a wealth of skills, life experience and knowledge.
They undertake vital tasks for which they receive full training and support. And the wide variety of roles from which to choose means that there are always opportunities to try something different and new.
People of all ages offer their help, and for a variety of reasons: some are retired with time to spare - some are students just starting out who need real and valuable experience to prepare them for a future career. Many volunteers have skills they can put to good use; others want to learn something new. Yet others are hoping to go back into paid employment and can gain confidence and experience to hone rusty skills or learn new ones in a safe and welcoming environment. Everyone enjoys the opportunity for social contact, to meet and make friends.
It's amazing what volunteering can do!
