Earl Mountbatten Choir aims for chart success!

Members of the Earl Mountbatten Community Choir are lending their voices to a national Christmas charity album aiming to inspire hope during difficult times.

The choir has joined ten other singing groups, collectively known as “Choirs with Purpose”, to produce an album called Stand Together. The Earl Mountbatten Community Choir travelled to Bristol yesterday to record their part on the record.

Each choir has a special message to deliver through music – from the Missing People Choir who were finalists at Britain’s Got Talent to the chart topping Greenwich and Lewisham NHS Choir. Earl Mountbatten Community Choir is featured as part of the newly formed UK Hospices Choir. Each choir will contribute one track to the album and all singers will come together for one special single.

Stand Together is an album of uplifting cover songs which will be released on December 15, but is available for pre-order now at www.pledgemusic.com/projects/choirswithpurpose All profits will be divided between the choirs’ charities.

Did you know? Earl Mountbatten Community Choir is open to everyone, of any age and any ability. You don’t need to know how to read music, and it doesn’t matter if you’ve never sung in a choir before. We believe that everyone can sing, and that singing is good for us! We aim to be inclusive and – first and foremost – to have fun! The choir meets at 6:30pm every Wednesday in the John Cheverton Centre on the hospice site.
