Introduction Programme

Introduction Programme

We like to provide you with an opportunity to find out more about what a voluntary placement with the Earl Mountbatten Hospice would mean to you.  So we hold regular Introductory Presentations to tell you more about us and the roles we can offer you.  There's no commitment, no pressure to sign-up on the spot - in fact, we encourage you to go away and have a think about it before you take things further.  If you then decide you want to go ahead, we'll meet you on a one-to-one basis and have a chat about which of the volunteering opportunities you've learned about has appealed to you before we ask you to do any form-filling.

And if it's retail work in one of our charitable outlets you're interested in, things couldn't be simpler!  No need to attend any presentation, all you need to do is pop in to one of the shops and speak to the manager or assistant who will talk you through the different tasks you could help with before proceeding further.  Easy isn't it?

If form-filling is a bit daunting, don't worry - we can help you with that and, of course, we are happy to have volunteers from all walks of life, so don't be shy!

Our next Introductory Presentation will be on Thursday 30th September at 1:30pm.  All Induction Days take place at the Earl Mountbatten Hospice, Halberry Lane, Newport.  If you want to book a place, you can phone the Personnel & Voluntary Services Office on 01983 528956, or you can email: vols@iwhospice.org

If you can't make it that day, no problem: we run the sessions regularly and if you phone or email as above to register your interest, we'll contact you with the next available date.
