The Earl Mountbatten Hospice is pleased to announce the return of Hospice Go Yellow Day to brighten up the Island for a whole day of fundraising madness! This year’s Go Yellow Day is taking place on Friday 1st October and we hope you will don some Yellow to show your support for the Islands Hospice.
Last year over 90 business and schools, and countless individuals, helped bring a bit of sunshine to an otherwise drab October day. There were outbreaks of mad bunches of banana’s running around Newport, Gorilla’s collecting spare change, a money trail staffed by eager chickens, pints of Yellow jelly being downed, the Sandown Rocks climbing wall being scaled, a radio presenter in a bath of cold custard and one member of staff at Springhill Pre-School in East Cowes had their everyday run-a-round transformed into Noddy’s Car with the help of some enthusiastic toddlers and a lot of yellow paint!
This year we’re hoping to make Go Yellow Day bigger and better, with more Island businesses getting involved than ever before, including Wightlink making the change to “Yellowlink” for the day. Also, Paul Topping and Michael Coombes of IW Radio are taking the Hospice’s Senior Fundraiser Karen Eeles on a mystery tour of the Island, stopping in at businesses “Going Yellow” and broadcasting Live all day from Southern Vectis’ “Old Girl”.
As well as brightening up your work day, businesses “Going Yellow” will be in with the chance of winning £1,000 worth of advertising on IW Radio! To be in with a chance of winning this excellent prize, kindly donated by IW Radio, all you have to do is let the Hospice know what you and your business have got planned for Go Yellow Day. The most imaginative, off the wall and original ideas will go to our judging panel and the winner will be announced. All the best ideas will also be visited by the “Go Yellow Bus” on the day itself and will be featured live on IW Radio.
