Day Care Unit

Day care services are available Monday to Friday from 10.00 am to 3.15 pm.
The department can accommodate up to 15 patients per day, of which up to four may be in wheelchairs.
Patients are collected from their homes by volunteers if necessary
This day care does not follow any particular model of care; however, we do provide holistic care for patients.
If a patient needs an infusion or other intervention that can reasonably be done within the department, given the time restraints, it can usually be accommodated. Conversely if patients only need social interaction initially then we are happy to offer this.
The criteria for referral is that there is a palliative care need.
We have a busy and enthusiastic creativity department which produces articles, some of which are on sale to the public: patients get a great deal from this aspect of care.
Day Care also provides an important rest for carers.
