At the Hospice we offer complementary therapies to all our patients, as well as their partners. We have a team of fully qualified therapists who volunteer their time to the Hospice, as well as a Therapy Coordinator who is in the Hospice most days.
The treatments we offer are as follows:
Aromatherapy massage
Massage
Indian Head massage
Reflexology
Reiki
Thai foot massage
Spiritual therapy
Alexander technique
Visualisation
We also have a team of 'pamperers' who offer manicures and pedicures
All the therapies we offer are done upon referral from the medical team, and they complement traditional medical treatments.
They are tailored to the individual person and are non-invasive.
The benefits of the therapies are:
To aid relaxation
To help on an emotional level
To ease physical pain
To work on a spiritual level
The treatments can either be carried out in your room on the ward, in the day unit, or in our relaxing therapy room.
Appointments can be made through any of the medical staff or by phoning the therapy coordinator on 529511 ex 525.
All therapy treatments offered by the Hospice are free of charge.
