The Earl Mountbatten Hospice is the only hospice on the Isle of Wight and cares for over 800 patients every year either through the In-Patient Ward, Day-care Unit or Hospice@Home team. Our aim is to give our patients and their families the best quality of life possible through controlling pain, holistic and complimentary therapies and care.
Uniquely, the Island's Macmillan and Mountbatten Nursing teams are based at the Hospice so we can provide coordinated care for patients.
It currently costs £3.7 million to run the Hospice each year, and while we receive a grant from the local Primary Care Trust of about a third we still have to fundraise £4,500 each day to provide this unparalled level of care. (This is reflected in the letters from relatives and patients).
So we are very dependent and grateful for everyone's continued support.
